Situated just south of the exciting bustle of Vilanculos town, lies Archipelago Resort with its own beautiful and spacious beach. Indonesian styled thatched casas, with cool verandas, open up to give breathtaking sea vistas as well as the tropical greenery of the well maintained Archipelago Resort Beach Front Estate.
The resort is a well-established gateway to the Bazaruto Archipelago Marine Park, the largest in Africa. Scuba diving, PADI dive courses, snorkeling, seasonal whale watching and island hopping are easily booked through our onsite Dive Centre.
Archipelago Resort is 6 kms south of Vilankulo on truly the most amazing beachfront property in Mozambique.
Each chalet is well appointed with its own sea view and is fully equipped for self-catering.
The chalets sleeps 6 people.
They are extremely spacious at approx 180sq meters in floor size and constructed out of timber on a raised hardwood deck under thatched roof.
Each casa offers:
2 bedrooms (1 double bed and 2 single beds)
2 bathrooms (one en suite) and
1 mezzanine bedroom with 2 single beds.
Ceiling fans throughout.
Large living and dining area, an open plan kitchen (fridge and freezer combo unit), walk in pantry and a separate store room.
A verandah runs around the outside in the front of the chalet.
The resort offers maid service, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, a soon-to-open mini super market, permanent boat sheds
and miles of unspoiled beaches.
The Sand Dollar Restaurant offers a menu that ranges from classical Mozambican seafood: prawns, crayfish, calamari and line fish as well as the popular peri-peri chicken. Convenience snacks and choice steaks are also served. The restaurant hosts candle lit pizza evenings, curry nights and fish braais (barbeques) under the trees. Grab a lunchtime snack, or start your day with a continental or traditional breakfast.
Next to the restaurant you will find our well stocked bar where you can relax and enjoy an ice cold ceverja (beer), a glass of wine, or one of our speciality cocktails whilst snacking on seafood rissóis, crab samoosas, or cashew nuts. Very enjoyable.
The large, crystal clear, freshwater pool is ideal for a friendly game of water polo, marco polo, or a spot of exercise. It is equally suited for relaxing with a cocktail or and cooling off.
Walk along beautiful beaches, play beach cricket in front of the resort, or volleyball on the sand court in the garden. The large freshwater pool is ideal for a friendly game of water polo, and the shallow, crystal clear sea is safe for children. Bird watching, canoe safaris, horse riding, diving, snorkelling and various other activites can also be booked through the Resort.
The Resort is proud to have a PADI certified dive center onsite.
